Eskmo's MiniMix for Radio4 Graz
15/July/11 Filed in: Guest DJ

A new, lovely, spacey, superchill mix from the uber-talented DJ Eskmo. He writes:
“The first European show of my EU tour this June was in Graz Austria (Pics below) for the Springfestival. I played alongside Dorian Concept, Martyn and Samiyam on Thursday and ended up staying an extra day on Friday. That extra night the good people over at FM4 asked me to come in and do a short interview and dj set. It seemed like most of the other djs coming into the studio were playing more danc-y type sets. So, given the gentle mist of rain outside, the proximity to rolling hills and a massive river, I figured I would go a more gentle route. (I admit this mix is more of something my alter ego “Welder” would put out, but the world is a weird place, you never know what can happen.) Here is the simple gentle set. Enjoy.”

biNGH: New Meat
19/May/11 Filed in: Guest DJ

Interplanetary trajectories make for systematically erratic positions and opportunities. Scattered like bits of fluff in a space dust storm, the wonders of this modality are infinite and varied. Letting go of the normal needs for position and velocity awareness leads to an almost intoxicating stupor of flavors, textures and intergalactic interactions. Such yang embodying trips, heady, rising, unsettled, bursting, glowing hot and bright, are inspired and short lived by their very nature.
In time, the fire burns low, the wind dies down, and the life returns to the earth. Internal transmissions take over the condintuitive channels of the extroversionary energies and it is time for internal reflection and grounded embodiment. Returning from far flung oRbiTal paths, tightening the circuits and letting the exploratory energy continue, with internal probes and present tense specialization, shifting from cosmic to embodied, from yang to yin, from far flung to grounded, from summer to the darker times... Out of the dying fires of extroversion, a new body is constantly discovered, New Meat is born.
This mix is a celebration and an exploration into the transition that comes over all of us, the process that is practiced, one direction or another, with sinusoidal regularity and chaotic randomness with every shift in life, with every dawning day and setting sun, with every change in the season. This is a celebration of the infinitely vast, endlessly varied, readily accessible temple that we are.
The work of the following artists is entwined with the verbage of Richard Freeman. Listen and enjoy. Taste some New Meat...

Chiron Transmission 1 : Golgotha
16/March/11 Filed in: DJ Playaduster

Greetings from the friendly Burners here at Destination Burning Man, and welcome to the latest mix from DJ Playaduster: "Chiron Transmissions 1 : Golgotha." Much of this podcast is shrouded in mystery and codes, but it appears to be a missive sent from the outer fringes of our solar system, a musical message that originates from the proto-comet Chiron.

Old MP3 Player
Discovered in 1977 in its eccentric orbit between Saturn and Uranus, Chiron is known in some circles as the "Rainbow Bridge" or "Wounded Healer," a humble, benevolent guide that can assist humans by keeping us moving forward on our proper spiritual paths. In early February 2011, Chiron entered the watery realm of Pisces, activating the pure power of potential, the manifestation of the unconscious and transformative healing through (re)union with the divine.
The frequencies found in this podcast are believed to have originated from Chiron, with DJ Playaduster serving as a musical midwife in order that they be perceived by the human ear and widely disseminated through our dBM channels.
Contributing artists include Bill Laswell, Rena Jones, Phaelah, Tipper, Heyoka, James Blake, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, DJ/rupture, Kim Hiorthoy, Ezekiel Honig, Yo-Yo Ma, Shackleton, PantyRaid and Thriftworks, with vocal musings from Joni Mitchell, Timothy Leary, Hekter McElliott, Pema Chodron and the Tangerines.
